Food Additive Triacetin is a food additive and flavor enhancer. It is a humectant and solvent in food such as baked goods, candies, ice creams, and processed meats. It retains moisture and improves texture. Tobacco Glycerol Triacetate enhances flavor and maintain moisture of tobacco products. It improves the taste and prevents the tobacco drying out. Pharmaceutical Glycerol Triacetate is an excipient in pharmaceuticals. It is a plasticizer and solubilizer for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). They are mainly tablet coatings, liquid formulations and topical preparations. Chemical Intermediates Triacetin is a starting material for the production of various compounds, including plasticizers, fragrances and pharmaceutical intermediates. Industrial Triacetin is used as a plasticizer in the production of plastics, such as vinyl and cellulose acetate. Triacetin is also a solvent for printing inks, dyes and coatings.
